Continued funding to support the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Foundation to increase collaboration around oral health across the profession. Activities during implementation will include: to facilitate increased collaboration across the profession and health care community; to increase shared understanding across the PA community and interprofessional health care partners that oral health is an essential competent of PA practice; to prepare student oral health champions to become leaders in the transformation of primary care; and to cultivate and prepare faculty oral health champions to become leaders in the transformation of primary care in their state. Specific activities strengthen local communities, inform health workforce policy at the local and national level, and promote system-wide change in the care environment. NCCPA activities will align with the Foundation’s focus eradicating dental disease and promoting the inclusion of oral health in patient-centered care models. Grant funds will support convening expenses (including a PA Summit), research, travel, and other overhead costs associated with the execution of the proposed plan.
