Medicaid adult dental benefits are not federally mandated as they are for covered children. Thus, these optional benefits are often the target of state Medicaid budget cuts, so expanding and/or maintaining them continues to challenge program administrators and contractors. Join us to learn more about a unique approach that explores socio-economic factors that impact the societal cost to states in the absence of Medicaid adult coverage.

With funding from the DentaQuest Partnership, MSDA collaborated with researchers from Brandeis University Heller School of Social Policy and Management for several years to study the non-traditional indicators that may be impacted by Medicaid adult dental benefits. Now, to advance this work, MSDA is launching a Cost Offsets Tool that can be used to predict a return on investment (ROI) to a state for funding a Medicaid adult dental benefit.

This webinar will provide an overview of the analytical nuances of the tool and will identify next steps toward launching the tool to state leaders.
