This investment provides continued support to the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to continue to promote the role of the safety net setting as a vehicle for change, innovation, and integration of oral health into primary care. NACHC has been a long-time partner in our grantmaking strategy, primarily supporting our work with primary care associations through the Strengthening the Safety Net Initiative and NOHIIN. Leveraging its national reputation and role as a safety net advocacy organization, NACHC will continue to elevate oral health as a critical component to safety net care and provide tools and resources that promote the integration of oral health into primary care. Through this grant, specifically, NACHC will continue to engage with OPEN as a conduit to elevating the importance of the safety net and policy implications that NACHC should consider as an organization; prepare a White Paper on the value of integrating oral health and NACHC’s Value Transformation Framework; provide support and technical assistance to the selected 8 organizations of the DQP safety net RFP and support NNOHA’s work in leading a learning collaborative; ensure oral health is included in NACHC’s COVID response and supporting dental providers in what aspects of care delivery might shift; and engage in discussions about the expanded role between NACHC and DQP. $70,000 will be used to support consultant and personnel time necessary for the project's implementation.
