Integrate oral health into person-centered healthcare
This investment supports the Connecticut Oral Health Initiative (COHI) to position oral health as a key topic in health systems transformation planning in Connecticut in alignment with The DentaQuest Partnership priority to pursue person-centered models of care through value-based transformation. For ten years, the COHI has been the primary advocacy organization in the state seeking to create health care system changes to include oral and dental health, and pressing for increased access to quality dental care for all of Connecticut’s citizens. COHI and its partners in the state, including the Connecticut Health Foundation, will participate in statewide policy conversations about medical-dental integration, building relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers, and engaging with community groups to define patient priorities around value-based care. $75,000 will support staff time, consultants, and office and administrative expenses.
