Arkansas: This investment supports the Increasing Diversity in Dentistry preparatory program for unevenly prepared pre-dental college students, where key components include mentoring, academic enrichment and community service in order to increase diversity among health professional with the ultimate goal of eliminating oral health disparities. Funds for this grant will be used by the National Dental Associations Foundation to support the IDID Program, specifically for the academic enrichment activities, community service and an administrative fee of 15%. The enrollment for new students for the 2014 – 2015 academic year is anticipated at seventeen and seventy-five formally enrolled students are currently in dental school. Grant funds provided through the President’s Fund for this program will reduce disparities in oral health care.
