Funding to support Friends of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (FNIDCR) to host the “Power of Oral Health Research” video contest to help educate the mainstream American public about the vast scope and breadth of oral health disease and how research funded by NIH/NIDCR helps to address these diseases and provides a return on investment to the American economy. By drawing attention to the significant impacts of oral health disease on overall health, this contest builds crucial awareness that can result in increased engagement in oral health activities by a broad swath of the American public, in turn increasing support of the resources necessary to continue oral health improvement efforts. FNIDCR’s video contest aligns with the Foundation’s commitment to increasing awareness of the impact of poor oral health on the overall health and well-being of Americans and builds support for continued research efforts to better understand the disease and provide necessary information and resources to identify more effective intervention strategies. Grant funds will support the sponsorship of the video contest.
